This time of year can be difficult for consumers. The fun of the festive season has come to an end and the long winter is far from over. To help cheer themselves up in the new year, many people may consider making improvements to their properties.
For example, if their stoves have been playing up, they can invest in new wood burner spares. These items can allow individuals to get their stoves back up and running. When the weather is cold and miserable, this is especially important.
Drawing attention to the winter blues that can afflict Brits, Anglian Home Improvements recently released the findings of research that found over a quarter (28 per cent) of consumers are feeling less happy than they did before the clocks went back, while 33 per cent have spent less time outdoors.
The survey also revealed that 23 per cent of individuals have felt more depressed and 32 per cent have found it harder to get motivated.
Unsurprisingly, over a third (34 per cent) of respondents noted they have found it increasingly difficult to get up in the morning.
Commenting on the findings, TV medical expert Dr Rob Hicks said: “It is well recognised that most people feel down from time to time during winter. Many actually suffer with seasonal affective disorder, a specific type of depression, thought to be caused by a lack of daylight, which leaves them depressed and lacking in motivation and energy.”
In a bid to boost their spirits and help ensure their homes are warm and cosy, many consumers may be considering investing in new stove spares and other items for their homes.
