When you think about something being artificial compared to something real you will probably assume that the real thing is better. Of course this is often the case, however sometimes the mimic is the more suitable for a certain application. This is becoming more often the case as we progress into the future and the materials and methods that we use to produce artificial goods are improving all the time, beginning to rival mother nature even.
A great example of this is the use of artificial flowers. Flowers and man have a very close relationship and some scientists believe flowers helped to drive forth the evolution of certain aspects of mankind, for instance our appreciation of colors It’s kind of fitting then that we are beginning to make silk flowers that very much resemble the real thing.
There are, of course, all sorts of benefits that artificial flowers have when compared with the real thing:
Whilst we use flowers for all sorts of purposes , such as making perfume or for decoration, flowers are obviously natural things and so we are at the whim of mother nature in terms of how we use them. In practical terms, this means that flowers are seasonal, and some blooms are only affordable available at certain times of the year. An artificial flower obviously isn’t controlled by the seasons in this way.
Similarly, an artificial flower will last much longer than the real counterpart. It’s sad to say but any disembodied flower is already beginning to rot and in just a few days it will begin to smell and look unsightly. If you leave flowers to go off by accident then they can have the exact opposite effect that you were aiming for.
This means that artificial flowers work out much cheaper than real flowers, because they last much longer. There’s nothing to stop you from using an artificial flower display for many years. Sadly, flowers don’t have nearly this lifespan, and are destined to die and lose all their luster and fragrance.
Speaking of fragrance and some people are actually allergic to real flowers, which manifests as conditions like hay fever. This is why you’re unlikely to find real flowers in hospitals as they can potentially have negative implications in terms of health. An artificial flower is hypoallergenic which means that it is suitable for people who suffer from allergies.
What are you most of all looking for from a floral display? The answer is probably great aesthetics, the way something looks in other words. Artificial or silk blooms are now constructed from very sophisticated methods and look just like the real thing. You can also source all sorts of different artificial flowers which are available online, and remember you don’t need to worry about seasonality.
Artificial flowers look great in all sorts of places, from the hospitality industry to office space to wedding receptions and more.
