Classic Marble Or Modern Slate

Slate is unfairly thought of as not being as desirable as other internal tiling materials, when it can in actual fact be just as sophisticated, particularly when used correctly. The deep storm cloud grey have a character and tonality that other materials simply don’t and when used with contrasting grouting it works to create a stark effect which can make for a highly unique area. For those zones that are quite large, slate tiles can make a very cost effective option that can allow an entire domestic or commercial zone to be decorated rapidly and cheaply. At around £15 per meter squared, slate looks great on the floor, walls or ceiling while also being strong, waterproof and very durable. For those who are looking for some color, then multicolored slate can offer a rusted look that is variable and just as cost-effective. This often finds itself being used throughout modern commercial areas such as restaurants, hotels or even businesses.

Marble tiles offer a counterpoint to the slate since they embody the more classical look that always expresses a level of opulence. It is particularly well deployed in bathrooms and kitchens, but may find extensive use throughout hotels, providing exceptional integration with fixtures and fittings. There are many different types of marble available from bright white to cappuccino, as well as muted golden colors  Each brings something different to proceedings and can be used to create a stark overall effect. Slate and marble are at opposite ends of the spectrum, but each brings its own characteristics.
