Christmastime can be a nightmare for pet owners. Both before and after the day itself, there are many new dangers lurking in the home for any pet and from the increased amount of chocolate lying around that could lead to dogs getting seriously ill to the number of decorations that could leave them tangled up and injured it will be wise to factor in your pet when consider your approach to Christmas.
However, it is not only accidents that can hurt your pets over the Christmas season, and you may well find that certain things you do on purpose can also be bad for any pet. From feeding them leftovers from the many meals you will be enjoying and in turn seeing their health suffer as a result to increasing the volume in the home whether with parties or even just with loud decorations, you may be surprised just how stressful such things can be for a pet.
Cats are notorious for lapping up any drinks that are lying around, and with more alcohol flowing over the Christmas period, it will be very easy for your cat to get extremely ill by lapping up the wrong thing. As such, it is wise to make sure that you are as conscious of what drink you have around the place that they could get into as much as you watch what they are eating.
That being said, there are plenty of festive treats your puppy or kitty will enjoy, and by looking at lists of festive foods approved for different animals you will easily see how they can safely have numerous treats at the same time you are.
